Sound healing and sound baths in India

Sound healing in India draws on old roots, from Nada yoga and mantra to the singing bowls of the Tibetan communities in the north, and on newer forms such as gong baths and crystal bowl journeys. Sessions range from a one-hour sound bath after work to multi-day trainings. Here you find sound healing events across India and the practitioners who lead them.

Frequently asked questions

What happens in a sound bath?
You usually lie down, eyes closed, while the practitioner plays instruments such as singing bowls, gongs or chimes. There is nothing to do except listen and rest. Sessions typically last from 45 minutes to an hour and a half.
Is sound healing suitable for everyone?
It is gentle for most people. If you are pregnant, have epilepsy, a pacemaker or strong sensitivity to sound, tell the practitioner before the session and ask whether it is right for you.
How do I book a place?
It depends on how the practitioner set up the event. If they turned on online payments, you book and pay from the event page. If not, you express your interest and arrange the details directly with whoever leads it.
