Step away from the noise of modern life and enter the sacred space of the Temazcal—an ancient Mexican steam bath ritual used for centuries to purify the body, mind, and spirit.
In this ceremony, we gather inside a darkened dome, representing the Earth’s womb, to reconnect with the four elements. As the "Grandmothers" (sacred volcanic stones) are brought to the center and doused with herbal-infused water, the rising steam (Inipi) begins a process of deep detoxification and emotional release.
This is a deep purification ceremony involving intense heat and steam. It is not recommended for individuals with severe claustrophobia, heart conditions, or high blood pressure. We ask that you come with an open heart and a respectful attitude toward ancient Mesoamerican traditions. No prior experience is needed—only the willingness to connect with the elements and your inner self.
The ceremony takes place inside a sweat lodge representing the womb of Mother Earth. Guided through four "doors" or stages, we will honor different directions and intentions. Volcanic stones (the "grandmothers") are brought to the center, releasing steam infused with medicinal herbs and traditional chants. Expect a sensory journey of darkness, heat, and introspection designed for emotional release and spiritual rebirth.
To get the most out of this sacred experience, please arrive at least 15 to 20 minutes early to ground yourself and help open the ceremonial space. Wear a comfortable swimsuit or a light cotton sarong for inside the lodge, and remember to bring a fresh towel and warm, cozy clothes to change into afterward. We recommend eating very lightly throughout the day and staying well-hydrated before we begin, while strictly avoiding alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to the event. If you feel called to do so, you are welcome to bring a small personal object or a crystal to place on the external altar to be charged with the energy of our collective journey.
