How to publish your holistic events and retreats in India

A practical guide for practitioners in India: how to present a yoga class, kirtan, sound bath or retreat online, take bookings and reach the right people.

How to publish your holistic events and retreats in India

If you hold a practice in India, whether yoga classes in Bengaluru, a weekly kirtan in Rishikesh, sound baths in Goa or retreats in the Himalaya, you probably already know the hard part is not the practice. It is everything around it: posting dates on Instagram, answering the same questions on WhatsApp, keeping track of who confirmed, who paid and who is still deciding.

This guide is about that part.

1. Give every event its own page

A post in your feed disappears in a day. An event page stays, and it answers the questions people would otherwise ask you one by one:

  • what the practice is and who it is for
  • date, time and duration
  • the venue, or the online link
  • how many places there are
  • the price, or whether it is free or by donation
  • what to bring and how to prepare
  • who you are, and how long you have held this practice

The last point matters more than people think. Seekers choose a person before they choose an event.

2. Use one link for everything you offer

Instead of a different link for each class or retreat, share one address that shows all your upcoming events and your 1:1 sessions. Put it in your Instagram bio, in your WhatsApp status and at the end of your newsletter. People see what is coming, choose, and book on their own.

3. Make booking simple

The fewer messages it takes to join, the more people actually join. Let people express their interest or book directly from the page, and keep the list of participants in one place, with their status: confirmed, waiting, arrived.

4. Stay in touch with the people who come

The people who joined one of your gatherings are the most likely to join the next. Keep their contacts, send them updates when something changes, and let them know when you publish something new.

5. Be honest in how you describe your work

Describe what happens, not what it will "do" for people. Avoid promising healing or transformation, be clear about contraindications for intense practices like breathwork, and say plainly when a practice is not suitable for beginners. Trust built this way lasts.

How Wanderer helps

On Wanderer you get a free public page with its own link, where you publish events (free, paid or by donation, in person or online) and up to three 1:1 sessions. Each event has its own page and its list of participants, which you can message and export. It is free as long as you don't turn on online payments.

Wanderer is opening to India now, so practitioners who publish here first are the first ones seekers in India find, on pages such as spiritual events in India.
